Masterchef: The Professionals

| |

It's back! The BBC announced back in July that they had commissioned another 300 episodes of Masterchef and they are rattling them out at a rate of knots on BBC Two's Masterchef The Professionals.
Forty five minutes a day, with an hour and a half broadcast on Wednesday, watching them becomes a bit of an occupation. The shows always seem that they're made for a 30 minutes transmission, and due to scheduling changes they are chopped up and are harder to follow. But that does that matter? I'm hooked!
John Torode has had some time off to promote his chook book, so in steps Michel Roux Jnr of Le Gavroche
. There's immediately added drama as cook chef per heat gets kicked out before even getting to cook for Roux.

Roux is a nice addition, a nice change from Gregg and John's Smith and Jones bellowing style, Roux brings some extra warmth and seems to care about the chefs.

The chef's themselves are brilliant, sometimes dim, often catatonic, always inarticulate. Some don't like The Professionals strand because all the chefs are unrecognisable, but I love it. Even though my favourites get voted off every time.
